Twitter is weird.
I can see the point, sort of. My issue is with the individual timelines, when I see an @someonesomeone often it is without any way of finding out what its in reference to, like only hearing half of a conversation, a solution (maybe) would be to have the @link point to a specific place in that users time line..
just saying….
If you click the “in reply to X” down below the tweet, it will link to the message the person replied to.
